  • The Central Station is build between 1881 en 1889 and is simular to the The Rijksmuseum. The same architect (Cuypers) designed both buildings.

  • Central Station is located in the inner city of Amsterdam between canals and the IJ river. From the Station Square leave trams and buses to all directions in Amsterdam. Inside Central Station is a metro stop. If you need travel advice, the Tourist Board and an office of the Public Transportation are outside on the Central Station Square. You need a 'strippenkaart' to travel in the bus, tram or metro. The strippenkaart can be purchased at the train station.

    The Dam Square with the Royal Palace, shopping streets, canal cruise boats and the Redlight area are all within 15 minutes walking. The Museum Square (Rembrandt and Van Gogh) is within 15 minutes by tram.
