Citizen Service Number
Inhabitants of Europe are allowed to live and work in any other member state. In order to work in the Netherlands however you need a Citizen Service Number. You also need this number for a Dutch bank account. You can apply for a Citizen Service Number at the municipality. There are no costs involved with getting a BSN.
work license
High skilled employes from outside Europe get a license within 5 weeks. One of the requirements is that you will earn at least €50.000. The government organization IND (ind.nl) can can you detailed information if you are from outside Europe and you want to work in Amsterdam for a longer period. Also people from Bulgaria and Romania still need a work license.

If you speak only English there are some chances to get a job in Amsterdam. Agencies need regularly fluent english speaking staff for foreign companies. The work is not allways in an office. Often it is possible to work at home. For example with callcenter jobs or in the ICT branche. Reguirements are a good internet connection, a computer and a room where you can work on your own. Other interestings jobs are mystery shoppers. In this job you visit shops and companies as a customer. You make reports how their service was.
