    Leidseplein is one of the most popular places in Amsterdam for going out. It's a square in the centre of Amsterdam and has terraces, bars, restaurants, coffeeshops, cinemas, theatres and popular clubs like the Melkweg and Paradiso. Sometimes you will see street musicians and other outdoor performers. From Central Station to Leidseplein is less than 1 hour walk.


    Just around the corner of the Leidseplein is one of the Amsterdam Tourism Offices It has 3 information desks. Opening hours 7 days a week: 09.00-17.00. Several trams lines (like number 1,5) take you to the Leidseplein. Buy a ticket for the tram (called 'strippenkaart') at Central Station.


    From Leidseplein its 2 stops with the tram to the Museum Square (within 10 minutes walk). Not far away, into the other direction to Muntplein, is the flower market
