The Rijksmuseum is open every day from 9:00 to 18:00, on Fridays also from 18:00 to 20:30.
The ticket counter closes at 17:30. The museum is also closed 1 January.

Distance from Central Station to the museum is about 4km. Tram 2 and 5 (stop at Hobbemastraat) goes to the Rijksmuseum.
Renovation & construction work
The renovation and construction of the Rijksmuseum has started in 2009 for the main building. The renovation of the museum will be completed in 2013.
A large part of the museum has therefore been closed.
The masterpieces from the Golden Age are still displayed in the Rijksmuseum in the Philips Wing.
The other collections of the Rijksmuseum are yet at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam Schiphol airport, in museums in the Netherlands & abroad and on the internet.
Admission & information
Entrance admission in 2010 is €12,50. Children under 18 are free.
Groups (15 or more): €10 per person.
It is possible to buy your ticket online and print your own e-ticket.
The advantage is that you don't have to wait in line to buy your ticket but can walk directly to the entrance.
It has not been permitted to take photographs or video.
Bags larger than 55 x 35 x 25 cm are not allowed in the wardrobe/museum.
If you plan to vist several museums in Amsterdam you could consider to purchase the "I amsterdam Card".
This card will give you free use of public transport and free admission in most museums in Amsterdam.
(including the rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum).
Prices: 24 hours (€33,00), 48 hours (€43,00) and 72 hours (€53,00).
