Dam Square Amsterdam center with the Royal Palace and the New Church
The Dam Square is the city center of Amsterdam.
On the photograph on the left is the "Nieuwe Kerk"(New Church) and the "Koninklijk Paleis"(Royal Palace).
The Royal Palace has a representative function, the Queen is not living here.
She lives in Palace "Huis ten Bosch", Northeast of The Hague. The Hague is the capital city of the Netherlands.
The Royal Palace was closed for years for renovation work but re-opened summer 2009. It is possible to make a tour through the palace from Tuesday till Sunday. Mondays, the palace is closed. Opening hours: 12.00-17.00. Admission is €7.50. Children 5-16, students,seniors pay €6.50.
The New Church is one of the most attended exhibition locations in the Netherlands.
